Random video chat can be a friendly way to meet people, and it can also go wrong. No service, including SpyMeLive, can control what a stranger says or does. What you can do is lower the risk. Here are ten habits that help.
1. Keep personal details private
Do not share your full name, address, school, workplace, phone number, card details, passwords or one-time codes with someone you have just met. A friendly tone does not make a stranger trustworthy.
2. Never send money
Anyone who asks for money, gifts, gift cards or crypto is running a scam, however sad the story. Report and move on.
3. Remember that others can record
SpyMeLive never records your video or audio, but the other person can film their own screen with a phone or software. Do not do anything on camera that you would not want to see shared.
4. Check what is behind you
Street signs, mail, school uniforms, a window with a view of your building: all of it can reveal where you are. Sit in front of a plain wall if you can.
5. Do not click links or install anything
If someone asks you to open a link, join another app or install software, the answer is no. Legitimate chats do not need it.
6. Use Next as often as you like
You never have to be polite to someone who makes you uncomfortable. Press Next. It takes one tap.
7. Report bad behaviour
Press Report for nudity, sexual content, threats, spam or anyone who looks like a minor. The person is never matched with you again and the report is stored for review by moderators. Repeated reports lead to automatic restrictions and bans.

9. Trust your instincts
If something feels off, it usually is. Leave the chat, even if nothing obviously wrong has happened.
