How SpyMeLive works
There are three steps. First, open the chat and confirm that you are 18 or older and that you accept the rules. Second, allow the camera and microphone when your browser asks. Third, press Start. If the conversation is not for you, press Next and a new person appears. Video and audio travel directly between the two browsers (peer to peer) and are never recorded by us.
What is different from Omegle
SpyMeLive was designed with the problems of anonymous video chat in mind, so a few things work differently:
- Adults only. You confirm your age before you start. On top of that, an automatic age check runs on your own device, and the chat is stopped if a person who may be under 18 appears on camera. Pictures used for that check never leave your device.
- One-tap reporting. If someone breaks the rules, press Report. That person is never matched with you again, and the report is stored for review by moderators.
- Automatic restrictions. Several reports against the same connection in a short time restrict it automatically, and repeat offenders are banned.

What SpyMeLive is not
SpyMeLive is an independent service and has no connection with Omegle or its former owner. It also cannot promise that every stranger will behave well: any open video chat carries some risk, which is why the safety tools above exist and why you should read our tips for staying safe before your first chat.
Tips for a good first chat
- Find a well-lit spot and check your camera preview before pressing Start.
- Start with something simple: “Hi, where are you from?” is enough.
- Keep personal details private: no address, phone number, card details or passwords.
- If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, press Next or Report and move on. You never owe a stranger an explanation.
Is it really free?
Yes. Chatting is free and needs no account. Optional paid extras, such as choosing who you meet, may appear later, but the core chat stays free.
